ALOHA!!!!

Sean, Dad & Ryan spent last week in Hawaii. In Hawaii they stayed at Grandpa Tohara's home. It was great that they have been able to make use of Ruthie's flight benefits at Delta. Jaymi and Emma happened to be in Oahu and flew over to join the party too.

Grandpa's house is on the big island in Kohala, and Dad's goal was to show the boys many of the places he remembered when he was younger, visit family and just have a fun time.

The first day there they went to a luau celebrate our cousin Kawika's high school graduation.

Throughout the week they went swimming almost everyday. Sean commented on swimming in salt water on how its not too friendly on the eyes.

They also did some sight seeing throughout the week and got to see a lot of the island. One such place was an old girl's school that was said to be haunted. The boys were somewhat spooked out at this place.

The boys also enjoyed hanging out with Grandpa & Grandma Tohara. They got to see Grandpa's pigs running all over the yard. Grandma was always surprised in the morning when she saw Sean and would say,"Who's that haole boy sleeping on the couch?"
From what I hear our Cousin Vinny is an awesome cook and was always cooking delicious food that was actually healthy.
Sean even got to help work on Grandma and Grandpa Tohara's House. He helped Uncle John install some new plumbing under the house.
All in all they had a great time and had plenty of stories to tell when they got back. We are just grateful Dad was able to introduce Sean to a part of his heritage and family he did not know so well. So thanks Dad!!!

P.S. Please excuse the picture quality. We had to scan some of these in and they did not copy well.

Sean looks like Mikey in the last pic. The one where your Granparents are on the lounge chairs with the grandchildren around them.
